Ornament Finishes

We just got back from another little trip.   We were in California visiting our daughter and son-in-law.  They just recently moved into their first house, and we were so anxious to see it!  It is fabulous and we are so happy for them!  I stitched ornaments for them and here they are.  WARNING: LOT'S OF PICS!!

This little nutcracker was fun to stitch, even though he is 5" x 5" and completely covered in stitches.  I used DMC, lots of metallics and RG Wisper.  He's mounted on a wooden dowel and trimmed with black and gold braid.  (well, not really a dowel, but a piece of a broken off shovel handle!-- I couldn't find just the right diameter dowel, but the shovel handle was just right!)

This was another fun stitch and finish!

The back fabric and here it is on their little "OU" tree on their kitchen counter!

This is the 3rd time over the years to stitch this little beauty!  All have been for gifts, but the next time will be to keep!!

That's all for today!  I'll be back with a few pics from this trip and maybe some more stitchy updates.  I'm behind on reading blogs and will be catching up in the next few days.

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope you aren't in too much trouble when DH sees his shovel...but even if you are ~ that ornament finish was totally worth it! The nutcracker ROCKS!
