A Little More

Only a wee bit more done tonight. I spent the weekend catching up on paperwork :( I had gotten pretty far behind on sorting through papers and getting the filing done. It's done now and that makes me feel much better! Just a short post tonight...must get to sleep, as I plan to be up and out early tomorrow morning to get to the sale at the Silver Needle that starts at 6 a.m. Tomorrow is not a holiday for me, so I will only have a little while to shop before work. Since I work only 1 mile away, I just might shop some more at lunchtime!!

More Snow!

Quaker Rose
Little by Little

We're getting more snow today! We started the day with rain, but now it's below freezing and the snow is coming down. At least I don't have to get out in it for the rest of the night.

A new chart came in the mail! I want to start Quaker Rose soon. I am going to use a piece of cream/ivory linen that I already have in my stash. I might try to dye it before using, but have not done so in years. I don't like fabric too splotchy and mottled, though. The blue in the design matches my blue bedroom, which just got painted this summer and so far has only one picture hung up.

I went to Hobby Lobby early this morning for a frame, mat and glass. I have something (secret stitching) for someone special. I didn't get it stitched as soon as I'd hoped due to my wrist surgery, and therefore won't be able to have it framed in time for me. No problem...I'll just do it! Will post pic after recipient gets it.

I finished this today. The cross stitching was completed months ago, but I just added the lazy daisy flowers and leaves and the gold braid. I'm happy with they way it turned out and will frame it someday.

The strength is coming back in my hand. In certain positions it is painful and I'm still having trouble doing some things. But, compared to how weak it was last Wednesday, I've come a long way. Still doing exercises at home, and will go for therapy weekly for the next 5 weeks.

Stitches are out!

My bandage is off and the stitches are out! Yea! That feels good, but my wrist and hand are really weak. I started therapy this morning and have done my exercises several times. After using my hand more and more throughout the day, it actually feels better and I seem to have more movement. As long as I can keep it warm, it doesn't seem as stiff. Just wanted to make this post...I'm off to see how well the stitching goes for a little while!

Ice Storm! and Another Finish

We had sleet most of the night, lightning and thunder. This morning there were trees, limbs, and power lines down all over town. My own yard was not spared. A tree in the back crashed against the house, narrowly missing a window. During the day, one in the front split and fell into the street, leaving just enough room to sqeeze by in the car. Hopefully more of that tree won't fall during the night, because the rest of it will come crashing through the living room window!

Meg's Bunny

There isn't much left to stitch and this one will be complete.
We started getting freezing rain last night. I heard it hitting the window during the night, along with thunder! This morning everything was covered with a layer of ice. The temperatures hovered around freezing all day-it may have gotten above 32, but I don't know for sure. More on the way tonight, so tomorrow morning should be a real mess...

Just a few more days until I get my stitches out!

The Honeysuckle Sampler

I can't stitch at the moment due to my surgery, but I can start adding some pics of my completed pieces. This has various stitches and many, many Queen stitches!

One Handed !

I had surgery a week ago on my wrist. The carpal tunnel finally got so bad that I had to have something done. The pain was waking me up several times each night even when wearing my splint. Another week until the bandage comes off and the stitches come out. It's been hard this week doing everything with one hand, and also very slow! Hopefully, I can stitch soon!

I have 2 rather large projects to begin in 2008. I have everything to start stitching "And A Forest Grew". I still need fabric for "A Quaker Christmas". I would love to begin one on Christmas Eve, and the other on New Year's Day!
