A Few More 2013 Finishes

Here are a few more finishes for 2013:

Hot Cocoa

c. 2012
10/3/2013 - 10/9/2013

Up on the Housetop
The Prairie Schooler
c. 1989

Night & Day
Little House Needleworks
c. 2007
10/18/2013 - 10/26/2013

These were all fun little designs I stitched while getting ready for the move.  I just wasn't motivated to get out any of my bigger projects.

This one was meant to be finished into some sort of ornament for daughter, but it didn't make it for 2013!  I will finish it and give it to her as an early 2014 gift!!  It was fun to stitch, though!

Christmas Cheer Santa / Jim Shore
Mill Hill
c. 2013
8/28/2013 - 9/11/2013

I do believe there may be a couple more that I missed getting a picture of.  Will have to go back and check my list.

One thing I'm missing since leaving Tulsa is not having a needlework shop nearby.  I had 2 great cross stitch stores- both 4 miles from my house, The Silver Needle and Stitchworks.  I missed going to the New Years Eve sale at The Silver Needle to stock up.  I have joined the Stitch from Stash (see button on sidebar) group and hope to mainly use what is stockpiled in my sewing room this year!  I've tried to do that for the past few years, but as the year went by I usually caved and bought new stash!  Oh well!  I DID try to be good!  Let's see how this year winds up...

Still liking AZ!  We are a short 5-6 hours from daughter and son-in-law in CA, so going to see them will be easier.  We went out for a weekend just before Christmas.  They are coming here in a week or so.  Can't wait!

I've found a group of ladies and have been meeting with them for several weeks.  It is a knitting and crocheting group, but I have been taking whatever I am currently working on.  I don't consider myself a REAL knitter or crocheter even though I can do the basics.  But, I did get inspired after the first meeting.  I've been wanting to learn to knit socks for about 4 years and had the yarn, needles and pattern, but just could not get the hang of it.  So, I got everything out and found a YouTube video that had simple directions, followed it and got a sock knitted!  It doesn't look great, but it's a sock.  Then, I made the 2nd one which looks better.  I bought more yarn and now have 1/2 of the second pair done!  Yay!!  I'm kinda proud of myself!!  Here they are:

Well, that's about it for tonight.  If you made it to the end, thanks for stopping by!

Great little finishes! Plus the socks look so pretty. I have no LNS and it can be very inconvenient at times.

These little finishes are so great. Particularly the little Prairie Schooler from one of their very early charts.

So glad you like your new state. :) It is awesome that it puts your closer to your daughter, too.

Love your stitchy finishes!

Ok, how you can say your are not a knitter and create socks like that I do not know. You are a knitter! Period. I love your socks and I know you will enjoy wearing them!

Blessings always
